It\u2019s been a tumultuous year for the Montreal-born Dufour-Lapointe sisters. <\/p>\n

Not even a year after Justine and Chlo\u00e9 Dufour-Lapointe won gold and silver in moguls at the Sochi Olympics, Justine is now celebrating her latest accomplishment, a Freestyle World Champion title. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was really happy to perform well on that day at the right moment,\u201d said Justine, 20, the youngest of the sisters. \u201cI think it\u2019s the whole process that makes me happy.\u201d <\/p>\n

The trio of freestyle skiers is still revelling in their Olympic win. With the biennial championship behind them, they\u2019re focused on the ongoing World Cup tour and taking home the Crystal Globes. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re still discovering the aftermaths of Sochi,\u201d said Maxime, 25, the oldest sister credited with leading the way into skiing for the family. \u201cEveryday you think it\u2019ll start to calm down, and something new appears. We\u2019re very lucky to be in that situation.\u201d<\/p>\n

When they\u2019re not winning world titles on the slopes, Maxime, Chlo\u00e9, 23, and Justine study C\u00e9gep \u00e0 distance.<\/i> Maxime graduated just last fall. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not easy, but at least I have something to carry on,\u201d Justine said about studying a class at a time while competing. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not going to be skiing all our lives,\u201d Maxime said. <\/p>\n

Maxime says their number one priority for the four years leading up to the next Olympics will always be skiing and performing. <\/p>\n

But Chlo\u00e9 hopes to take advantage of the calmer season this fall to study fashion at C\u00e9gep Marie Victorin without the championships, Olympics and other transitions to worry about. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s so much stuff that\u2019s not really stable right now,\u201d she said about changing coaches and building a new home in Montreal West. <\/p>\n

The entire family is in the process of moving from Rivi\u00e8re des Prairies to a new fourplex on Westminster. There, the sisters and their parents will balance living independently while remaining close as neighbours. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just because we\u2019re working together,\u201d said Chlo\u00e9 of maintaining a family-work dynamic. \u201cOur mom and the three of us need to see each other once a day. It would be stupid if we spread out.\u201d <\/p>\n

Maxime compares it to childhood memories on her father\u2019s sailboat. \u201cWhen you\u2019re on a boat, it\u2019s not that big and you need to coexist,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

They are all looking forward to the new scenery. Being closer to downtown, their gym and other skiing families are part of the perks of moving. <\/p>\n

The sisters are also looking forward to a more financially stable year. <\/p>\n

After the Olympics last year, Maxime, Chlo\u00e9, Justine and their fellow Canadian skiers faced a shortage of funds. The Canadian Freestyle Association didn\u2019t have enough to get its athletes through the end of the season. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe were really on thin ice,\u201d said Maxime. \u201cThat\u2019s the big topic every year: are we going to be okay? Do we have enough sponsors?\u201d <\/p>\n
