The Verdun Citizen\u2019s Action Committee (Comit\u00e9 d\u2019action des citoyennes et citoyens de Verdun)<\/i> plans to make gentrification a key topic for their winter activities. <\/p>\n

Research, a newsletter, a wine and cheese and a public discussion about the issue will take place at their Verdun offices in February and March. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe have many more tenants being displaced recently and we\u2019re wondering whether the cycle of gentrification is behind these trends,\u201d said Marie LeRay, the coordinator who is working on the CACV\u2019s next newsletter. \u201cWe\u2019d like to involve students from Concordia and other researchers to help us collect data to present to the public sometime in March.\u201d <\/p>\n

Marie says that anyone who would like to be involved in planning a public event to be held in March is welcome to attend a wine and cheese at the CACV offices at 3972 Verdun in mid-February. For more information, call her at [514] 769-2228 x 103.
