A new, 15,000 square foot bank branch
\nopened Oct 1 on Le Corbusier, at Laval’s
\nbusiest intersection. It will serve
\nLaurentian branch customers as far away
\nas Ste. Eustache to the west and Joliette
\nto the east.<\/p>\n

In addition to the familiar retail banking, the facility will add specialized services such as private banking, as well as offices to cater to Laval’s booming small-
\nand medium-sized businesses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n\u201cLaval has a lot of wealthy people,\u201d
\nLaurentian’s marketing assistant vice-president Francis Leblanc told The
\nSuburban<\/i> in an interview. \u201cQuebec’s
\nthird-largest city is a huge market.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cServing these clients from downtown
\ncan be awkward,\u201d he explained. \u201cNow we
\nwill have three people serving them on a
\nregular basis in Laval.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe call this a flagship branch, because it’s very central and all of our
\nservices are available in a single location,\u201d
\nsaid Leblanc. \u201cIf you are a pharmacist,
\nfor example, you need that kind of banking for your business.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nHe said that the bank decided to situate its super-branch in Laval because of
\nits strategic location.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe considered other spots, but it was
\ntough to find the kind of ready accessibility that we have in Laval on Le
\nCorbusier,\u201d Leblanc observed.\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\nHe said that bankers often have to go
\nand visit their business customers, and
\nthat personnel at the new super-branch will
\nbe serving not just Laval but the North
\nShore and Lanaudi\u00e8re regions as well.\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n\u201cBankers visit clients on site, because that’s
\nhow they acquaint themselves with how
\ntheir business functions, how the premises are laid out,\u201d he explained. \u201cWe see
\nnot just the owner but the people who
\nwork with the owner, to figure out ways
