\nup the owner of a jewelry store at 5535 Laurentian
\nboulevard and fled with $150,000 worth of jewelry, Oct. 19.<\/p>\n
According to Const. Nathalie Lorrain,
\nthe pair had visited the store two days earlier on the pretext of making a purchase.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey probably went there to case the
\nplace, find out procedures and where the
\njewelry was kept,\u201d said the Laval police
\nspokeswoman. \u201cThey sequestered the
\nowner in a back room while they took all
\nthe jewelry from the counters.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWitnesses who spotted them fleeing
\nthe store sensed that something was
\nwrong, gave police a description of the
\nsuspects permitting a police cruiser to
\nspot the getaway car a few minutes later,\u201d
\nConst. Lorrain added. \u201cSome of the jewelry\u2014and the machete\u2014was in the car, but
\nthe suspects had fled.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said that both suspects were black
\nmen. One was about 20-years-old, 1.8 m
\ntall and weighed 75 kg. He wore black
\npants and a black vest over a white t-shirt,
\na black cap with a white logo and black
\ngloves. The other, who carried the
\nmachete, was about 25-years-old, 1.75 m
\ntall and weighed about 72 kg. He had black hair woven in dreadlocks and spoke French with a
\nCaribbean accent. He wore white pants, a black jacket and a grey tuque.<\/p><\/div>\n

\nConst. Lorrain said that the getaway car was not
\nreported stolen.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
