The city of Laval has asked Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Longtin, of the law firm
\nB\u00e9langer Longtin<\/a>, to file for participant status on its behalf at the
\nCharbonneau commission.<\/p>\n

The Montreal administrative law
\nexpert has represented many clients at
\nquasi-judiciary tribunals such as
\npolice commissions and coroners’
\ninquiries, access to information and
\nthe Administrative Tribunal of
\nQuebec.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re still waiting to hear from
\ncommissioner Charbonneau as we
\nspeak,\u201d Laval spokeswoman Nadine
\nLussier told The Suburban<\/i> in an interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re a major city and we issue a
\nlot of construction contracts,\u201d she
\nobserved.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo it’s important for us to be part
\nof the Charbonneau commission to be
\nable to ask questions, because it will have an impact on the way we’re doing
\nbusiness and issuing contracts.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\u201cIf we look at the city of Montreal, they requested their participant back in May or
\nJune,\u201d Lussier continued.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe’ve taken a bit longer to request status because it wasn’t as important for us
\nat the beginning, but knowing how things
\nare going now the decision has been
\ntaken for us to request this status.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n
