When the weather is especially cold, peak use jumps during 6 a.m.-9 p.m. and then from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. During that time, major electrical users like dryers and dishwashers should be avoided to save money and restrict peak use. <\/p>\n
Other suggestions from Hydro Qu\u00e9bec include limiting the use of hot water during peak periods and lowering the temperature in rooms not being occupied.<\/p>\n

These suggestions can prevent Hydro Qu\u00e9bec from having to purchase extra \u201cpower from neighboring systems at times. Energy exchanges between Hydro Qu\u00e9bec and its neighboring systems are common practice.\u201d <\/p>\n
