Vimont\u2019s representative in Quebec City rose to speak during the second week of the provincial parliament\u2019s latest session, Feb. 19.<\/p>\n

Former Laval police officer and policeman\u2019s brotherhood vice-president Jean Rousselle acknowledged a major milestone in the life of one of his constituents.<\/p>\n

\u201cRosa Laricchiuta Campanella, who lives in my riding of Vimont, marked her 100th birthday, Jan. 22,\u201d he noted. \u201cA native of Conversano, Bari, Italy, in 1954 she came to Quebec, where she worked for more than 30 years in manufacturing\u2014particularly in the garment industry.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA mother of six children\u2014Clara, Maria, Jerry, Vetina, Joe and Rita\u2014she is also grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving lived the past 30 years with her daughter and son-in-law Vita and Constantino Dicristo, Mrs. Laricchiuta remains in great shape and looks forward to remaining that way,\u201d Rousselle said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn Jan. 26, Mrs. Laricchiuta\u2019s family and friends gathered at the reception hall of the Ch\u00e2teau classique to pay their respects with great tribute,\u201d Rousselle continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, it\u2019s my turn to pay tribute to her and to wish her many more years of health and happiness in the company of her loved ones,\u201d he concluded.<\/p><\/div>\n
