A lascivious look left a 66-year-old Laval man recovering from a collapsed lung, after he eyed the young woman waiting ahead of him in line at the d\u00e9panneur at 56 Meunier, around 7:30 p.m., April 17.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer boyfriend noticed and a verbal altercation ensued,\u201d Const. Franco di Genova told The Suburban.<\/i> \u201cOnce everyone paid, the dispute continued in the parking lot. After the victim got into his car, one of the two young men involved kicked the car.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 66-year-old got out of his car and during the shoving match that ensued, someone stabbed him in the right shoulder with a knife, deeply enough to nick his lung.\u201d<\/p>\n

Doctors reinflated the collapsed lung, and expected to release the victim from hospital, April 19.<\/p>\n

Laval police charged Jonathan Perreault, 22, and Yannick Bouffard, 25, following the altercation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are expected to appear in court again this week,\u201d said Const. di Genova.<\/p>\n

News outlets from across Canada have been pestering Laval police to provide a photo of the young woman, whom they have not charged with an offence.<\/p>\n

Car thief surrenders to police dog<\/b>
\n
<\/b>
\nA furry member of the Laval police canine squad helped apprehend a car thief, April 17.<\/p>\n

\u201cAround 2 p.m., a patrol officer spotted a very nervous driver in the parking lot of the Metro grocery store on Cartier,\u201d recalled Const. di Genova. \u201cWhen the police car turned around, the driver of the black Honda Civic took off, leading to a medium-speed chase of around 70-80 km\/h.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said that the driver committed several traffic violations during the chase, before coming to a halt when he crashed into a store sign at another parking lot, after which he fled on foot.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe patrol officer removed the keys from the Civic and lost sight of fleeing man,\u201d said Const. di Genova. \u201cThat’s when the canine squad was called to the scene. They started tracking and as the dog approached a parked car on Clapin Street, the man got out from underneath, where he had been hiding, and surrendered.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt turned out that the car had been reported stolen five days earlier.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/b>
\nSenior in coma after crossing crash<\/b><\/p>\n

\nA 74-year-old Laval man was in an induced coma at the Sacr\u00e9 C\u0153ur hospital trauma centre, after multiple fractures in a pedestrian accident at Dagenais and Ingrid in Fabreville, April 15.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe man didn’t look before crossing the intersection,\u201d Const. di Genova reported.<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cHalfway across, he started to trot, but tripped in the right hand lane, where the oncoming vehicle didn’t see him lying on the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the severe injuries, Const. di Genova said that doctors do not fear for the senior’s life.<\/p>\n

\n
\n Hospital security alert<\/b><\/p>\n

Two Laval men found their photos in the newspaper last week, after they tried to visit a friend at the Cit\u00e9 de la sant\u00e9<\/i> superhospital.<\/p>\n

Since their hospitalized friend had been the victim of an attempted murder, hospital officials alerted Laval police, who released the security camera photo to news media.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey didn’t realize that their visit would cause a stir,\u201d Sgt. Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Jean told The Suburban.<\/i> \u201cOnce they found out, they went to the police station, where they met with detectives.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was completely harmless,\u201d assured Sgt. Jean.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n
\n911 call leads to grow-op<\/b><\/p>\n

Police stumbled on an indoor marijuana farm, around 10 p.m., April 18, after a woman called for an ambulance after a simple household mishap on Jolic\u0153ur Blvd.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was extremely intoxicated, and had fallen on the ground and cut her face,\u201d said Sgt. Jean.<\/p>\n

\u201cPolice were dispatched to make sure that no domestic violence was involved,\u201d he explained. \u201cWhen they arrived, the noticed a pungent smell in the house, and discovered around 100 marijuana plants.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHer boyfriend, who was equally intoxicated, is probably not too happy about that,\u201d Sgt. Jean said.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
