Over the next two years, the city of Dorval plans to replace all of its existing street signs with new ones.<\/p>\n

\nAs a way for citizens to own a piece of Dorval history, the vintage signs that are replaced are being offered to residents for a nominal fee.<\/p>\n

Residents can call city hall to reserve a sign of their choice and “when that specific urban souvenir gets removed from the municipal environment, some have already been taken down, the person that will have reserved it will be contacted and will be able to take it home,” explained communications officer S\u00e9bastien Gauthier. <\/p>\n

Needless to say, only signs that are taken down during the alloted time can be purchased and reservations are on a first come, first served basis.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n“This replacement work will be undertaken gradually and will end in 2015,” noted Gauthier. “Therefore, it is prohibited for anyone to take down the current street signs in Dorval. Violators could be brought to justice.”<\/p>\n
