Transport Quebec plans to shut down the Laurentian Autoroute on Saturday night, so it can dismantle what is left of the overpass at Cartier Blvd. in Laval.<\/p>\n

The highway authority plans to deploy portable message signs to warn motorists that Highway 15 will be shut down all the way from Highway 40 in Montreal to Highway 440 in Laval.<\/p>\n

Starting at 9:30 p.m., drivers will be diverted as work crews seal off highway entrances.<\/p>\n

\nSouthbound traffic will be channeled onto Highway 440 toward Highway 13. Motorists heading northward will be rerouted along Papineau to get to Highway 13.<\/p>\n

The Cartier overpass spanning Highway 15 will also be blocked off from 10 p.m. onward.<\/p>\n

Although Transport Quebec anticipates reopening the overpass at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, it cautioned in a statement that \u201cinclement weather or operational constraints\u201d could delay the return of traffic to those major arteries.<\/p>\n

The province expects to complete its replacement of the Cartier viaduct by November, with paving complete at an unspecified date in 2014.<\/p><\/div>\n
