In 2012, more than 45,000 children were reported missing to police agencies across Canada. At the Pointe Claire family Safety Day, parents will be given the opportunity to create a child ID, one of the initiatives which the police have put in place to assist in the case of missing children.<\/p>\n

\nThe cards have an image and fingerprint of the child as well as other vital statistics.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nIn order to get your child ID, which is a wallet-sized plastic card, you are required to bring a passport photo of your child.<\/p>\n
\n
The event, which is now in its seventh year, is organized by Pointe Claire and its community partners. For the last five years the family safety day has been organized to coincide with the Pointe Claire Soccer tournament for five to 15-year-olds. The day will be a great opportunity for families to learn more about safety issues in the Pointe Claire area.<\/p>\n

\nFamilies are invited to learn about CPR, bike safety, public security and a range of other demonstrations and interactive learning opportunities.<\/p>\n

The event will be held at Terra Cotta park in Pointe Claire on Sept. 7, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information call [514] 630-1214.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
