As a way of giving back to a city “that has been great to us”, Broccolini chief operating officer Anthony Broccolini donated 21 trees to the city of Kirkland as part of its sustainable development initiative, a five year plan that is designed to augment and protect the city’s green spaces and parks.<\/p>\n

Last Thursday afternoon, Broccolini and some of his colleagues along with Kirkland mayor John Meaney and councilors Michel Gibson and Domenico Zito, were on hand behind the Plaza Azzuri on Merlot street where the 21 trees had been planted on the mall’s green median separating Merlot from the parking lot.<\/p>\n

“We had wanted to plant more trees in the city as we are at a bit if a deficit and now we have 21 planted thanks to Broccolini who we are proud that they have chosen Kirkland for their head office,” said Meaney.<\/p>\n

Meaney also thanked Anthony as part of the “younger generation of the Broccolinis for contributing” while Broccolini was pleased that “future generations will see these trees grow and having worked and grown up in Kirkland, the city has always been great to us and we are proud to be giving back to the community.”<\/p>\n

“It is great to have such a good corporate citizen like Broccolini who went over and above with this contribution,” said Zito whose district of Lacey Green West contains Merlot Street.<\/p>\n

“It is with the participation and involvement of all stakeholders in the city that we can contribute to the environmental sustainability of our community,” noted Meaney.<\/p>\n
