\u201cI was expecting to win, but I might have been the only one,\u201d Trottier laughed. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think that people voted for someone whom they knew would bring change to city hall,\u201d Trottier smiled, speaking openly of his first plunge into politics. \u201cI don\u2019t have a politician\u2019s personality: I\u2019m spontaneous and affable\u2014a smiling, dynamic Joe Blow.\u201d <\/p>\n

He expects that he\u2019ll be welcomed by the other councillors and looks forward to amiable collaboration. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m optimistic that I will work well with them,\u201d he predicted. \u201cThough I\u2019ll be an opposition councillor, if an idea is good, it doesn\u2019t matter where it came from. It\u2019s still a good idea!\u201d<\/p>\n

He hopes to move the Bois de l\u2019\u00c9querre file forward, to help it realize its full potential as a major park. He also noted Fabreville\u2019s duality, with Champfleury being a well-organized, well-structured and closely-knit community; and old Fabreville having been somewhat neglected, with few citizen-driven organizations. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat part of the neighborhood needs a little love. Parks have been left aside, there is no structured citizen consultation mechanism to compare with Champfleury,\u201d Trottier observed. \u201cThese are two different realities that have to be addressed accordingly.\u201d <\/p>\n

His message to Fabreville\u2019s residents: Get involved! <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have all the answers,\u201d the admitted. \u201cI want for people to make suggestions, because I am their voice in city hall, where I can turn ideas into action. But I want it to be our ideas, not just mine. It has to come from the citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n
