The City of Pointe-Claire has a new tenant in town with the arrival of Sotramont, a 45-year-old second-generation residential construction company that, over time, has built a reputation for reliability, exceptional sites, and a wide variety of high-quality products. With more than 2,000 housing units to its name, Sotramont is now a leading-edge owner builder in the development of integrated residential projects.<\/p>\n

Sotramont broke ground November 28th at its site on Hymus and Paprican streets, marking the start of construction of its Quartier Greenwich real estate project.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cTime is central to the Quartier Greenwich\u2014hence its name, inspired by the first meridian where longitude is defined as 0\u00b0 and where the standard is set from which the world\u2019s clocks base their time,\u201d Sotramont said on its web-site.<\/p>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cFuture Quartier Greenwich residents will in fact live in the heart of a sustainable residential project that will stand the test of time and where proximity and accessibility will let them benefit fully from their time and from life.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Quartier Greenwich offers three types of housing, condominiums, townhouses, andstacked townhouses, and ranging from 1,650-3,500 sq.ft.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cThe buildings are designed to qualify for LEED Gold, the standard that recognizes best-in-class environmental buildings in North America,\u201d stated Marc-Andre Roy, President of Sotramont. <\/p>\n

“We are the only builder in the West Island providing community living to empty nesters, retirees, young families, professionals, and first time home owners. We have underground infrastructure which is 100 per cent paid, so there is no hidden costs,\u201d Lee Anne Caron, Quartier Greenwich sales manager told The Suburban.<\/i><\/p>\n

Le Quartier Greenwich is a boost to the Pointe-Claire economy.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cIt is a ten-year project, 1000 new units, a population increase of 3,000 people, a $250 million increase in the city\u2019s evaluation which represents a 3 per cent increase, which will definitely boost our economy in the industrial and commercial sectors, \u201c outlined Pointe-Claire Mayor Morris Trudeau.<\/p>\n

Phase One of the project is 50 per cent sold. Possession of condominiums set for September, 2014, with occupation of townhouses, and stacked townhouses ready by November of next year.<\/p>\n
