www.thesuburban.com<\/a><\/p>\nStarting this spring, Gaz Metro will be changing a section of its pipe network found within the four kilometre stretch between St. Charles Blvd. in Kirkland to the Morgan exit in Ste. Anne de Bellevue along Highway 40 as part of the continuing roadwork being completed by the Transport Quebec (MTQ) along that very region. <\/p>\n
“With the MTQ’s work, there was a risk of hitting the existing conduit so we wanted to take advantage of the work being done to build a new section,” said Luc Nolet, spokesperson for the Bureau d\u2019audiences publiques sur l\u2019environnement <\/i>(BAPE).<\/p>\n
To sensitize affected residents, BAPE is holding a public consultation meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ste. Anne de Bellevue Church parish hall at 1 de l\u2019\u00c9glise. <\/p>\n
“We will be discussing the nature of the project as well as the extent and type of work expected,” Nolet told The Suburban.<\/i> “The population is welcome to come and ask questions.”<\/p>\n
The three month project is slated to cost $ 9 million and residual impacts will be slight, according to BAPE. Work on the new section will be between 7 a.m. and end 13 hours later. <\/p>\n
As Gaz Metro create the new pipe, the previously abandoned pipe will be removed by the MTQ throughout the course of their excavations to complete the roadwork. <\/p>\n
Until Feb. 3, citizens interested in learning more about Gaz Metro’s upcoming project can read any pertinent documents relating to the work at the Kirkland Library, 17100 Hymus. <\/p>\n
