A call to the Laval Police confidential tip line led investigators to shut down on a hitherto-unknown drug trafficking ring, Feb. 6. Together with their counterparts, they raided four homes in Laval, as well as residences in Montreal, Mirabel, Blainville and Longueuil. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey arrested ten suspects,\u201d Const. Franco di Genova told The Suburban.<\/i> \u201cThe court released six of them the following day, after they promised to return for a later hearing to face the charges against them.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a very well-structured group,\u201d Const. di Genova said, \u201cto the point where drug investigators think that they might be somehow intertwined with organized crime. It remains to be seen whether they are connected with groups such as the Hell\u2019s Angels or Italian or Lebanese criminals.\u201d <\/p>\n

Four suspects remain in jail: <\/p>\n

\u2022 Daniel Garolczyk, 51, a resident of Laval\u2019s St. Martin des Laurentides district, faces six possession and trafficking and conspiracy to traffic drugs charges;<\/p>\n

\n
\u2022 Chomedey resident Hassan Jaber, 31, faces 18 possession and trafficking charges, as well as two charges for possessing brass knuckles and a switchblade knife;<\/div>\n
\n
\u2022 in addition to possession, trafficking and conspiracy charges, police also accused Longueuil resident Giovanni Timperio, 53, of several weapons violations, after they allegedly found improperly stored 12 gauge and .410 calibre shotguns and a .308 rifle improperly stored; and<\/p><\/div>\n
\n\u2022 Montreal resident Jessica Verhelst, 21, whom police charged with trafficking and having cocaine and methamphetamine in her possession to traffic. <\/p>\n

Police seized 129.6g of cocaine, 141 methamphetamine and six amphetamine pills, 51g of marijuana buds, 14.3g of hashish and nine ml of GHB \u2013 the date rape drug \u2013 as well as a kilogram of lidocaine, an anesthetic. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey also impounded equipment for an entire [marijuana] grow operation\u2014unused\u2014worth $5,000,\u201d Const. di Genova added, \u201cas well as three vehicles and more than $12,000 in cash.\u201d
