The real estate agent of Remax Royal Jordan has been selling homes in the West Island for the last decade and sees no signs of panic, despite the election call by the Parti qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois.<\/i> “I have not received one call from a homeowner who wants to move because of the political situation,” Arsenault told The Suburban.<\/i> The real estate expert did note that some “people are taking a wait and see approach as some sellers expect more movement post election.” <\/p>\n
Arsenault is still getting offers from properties, he received three last week alone, and believes that “many people on the West Island have decided to stay no matter what and because there is such a community spirit here, there is still a demand for buyers to move here.” <\/p>\n
And while there has been no stagnation for West Island real estate, Arsenault noted that some buyers or sellers, no matter what the election be it municipal, provincial or even the US presidential race, “to varying degrees, some take a wait and see approach.” <\/p>\n
But those people have a specific reason such as their job could be transferred or others “just realize it is not so easy to just get up and go.” <\/p>\n
Arsenault had heard from some concerned sellers during the early days of the provincial campaign that there were more For Sale signs but because of the timing, “it could just be ironic since many rental properties have to place their renewal notices now.”
