Shortly after Monday night\u2019s election call favoured the Liberal Party for a solid majority, Train de l\u2019ouest<\/i> co-founder and spokesperson Clifford Lincoln praised the Liberal victory as a good sign for the high speed commuter rail project that would link Vaudreuil to the downtown core with trains running every half hour all day.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Train de l\u2019ouest<\/i> welcomes the election of a Liberal government majority in Quebec,\u201d said Lincoln via press release. \u201cMr. Philippe Couillard has always shown his support for improved commuter train service between downtown Montreal and the West Island, including Vaudreuil-Soulanges, and clearly reiterated during the last election campaign that the Train de l\u2019ouest<\/i> was a priority project.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\u201cThe more than 300,000 people who commute every day can only welcome this good news. It is with enthusiasm that we offer our full cooperation to the new government in place to plan the next steps to bring this project to fruition,\u201d added the former Lac St. Louis Member of Parliament.
