Laval voters expressed their usual knack for picking a winner, Monday night, as they pushed the Parti qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois<\/i> out of every National Assembly seat on \u00cele J\u00e9sus.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need a Quebec that includes all Quebecers,\u201d premier-elect Philippe Couillard declared when he visited Laval on Friday, \u201cwhere you can be chez vous<\/i> instead of chez nous.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Jubilant candidates and campaign staff at the end of the electoral battle contrasted starkly with the Liberals\u2019 funereal news conference at the outset of the campaign a month ago. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re pleased to send L\u00e9o Bureau-Blouin back to university,\u201d said returning Chomedey MNA and Laval Liberal caucus chair Guy Ouellette. <\/p>\n

\u201cOn Saturday, March 29, [outgoing Premier Pauline Marois] turned 65 years old, so she can take her retirement pension,\u201d he quipped to an campaign headquarters packed with Liberal faithful. <\/p>\n

\u201cLaval is Quebec\u2019s third-largest city with some 420,000 people,\u201d he told The Suburban <\/i>in an interview. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t well represented by the Parti qu\u00e9becois<\/i> government. It was a mess. With just two PQ MNAs and a P\u00e9quiste minister responsible for Laval who doesn\u2019t even live here, all they paid attention to was their ridings.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\u201cStarting tomorrow, the Laval caucus will start rebuilding,\u201d he smiled, \u201cand now we will have the ear of the Premier.\u201d<\/div>\n
