Quebecers will go to the polls October 5 and, on Day 18 of their campaign for power, party leaders are prepping for tomorrow’s first TV debate.

• The Liberal party has offered ideas of where to take the province financially;
• The Parti Québécois is promising funding for women’s shelters;
• The CAQ is proposing changes to the Canadian constitution;
• Québec Solidaire has presented a plan to combat violence against women and cyberviolence;
• CAQ leader Fréchette wants to add 300 Sûreté du Québec police officers and another 50 prosecutors;
• Liberal leader Milliard is promising to increase preventative health care;
• PQ leader Plamondon has unveiled plans that would see Quebecers less reliant on hospitals for their health-care; and
• Québec Solidaire wants more free public transit.

Quebec’s new restrictions on prayer are in place, with employees and students facing limits on where they can pray in universities, colleges and transit agencies, with no collective religious practices permitted on public roads or in parks.

Cellphones are banned in schools and teachers are noticing that students are more engaged with each other. Richard Bergevin, president of the Fédération des Syndicats de l’Enseignement says that students are also more engaged in their learning and socializing with one another more often.

The Habs have signed Chris Kreider. Carey Price says that “…I have no animosity toward him. It was just a play; it was the playoffs, and everything happened very quickly. I don’t hold it against him at all.”
