Coffee might be linked to a lower risk of death and recurrence of breast cancer.
Researchers have been following 95 women with breast cancer for over a decade. Is the consumption of polyphenols—naturally occurring plant compounds with antioxidant properties—associated with mortality and survival and the chance of breast cancer returning?
The study, published in the British Journal of Nutrition, has determined that women with higher total polyphenol intake have a lower risk of dying.
Coffee was the biggest contributor to participants’ consumption of total polyphenols.
