United States Trade Representative Jamieson Greer says that the United States is not renewing the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement on trade.
Greer says that the agreement will remain in place, as negotiations continue.
An annual review will take place during the coming decade or until a new deal is signed.
If no extension is agreed to, the trade agreement will expire.
Canada and Mexico were pushing for a 16-year extension.
The trade agreement shields Canada and Mexico from many of President Trump’s tariffs.
