The CAQ government has adopted the Gabie Renaud Law, which will allow police to share information with women who are looking for assurances, a man they have just met doesn’t have a violent past.

Quebec children under the age of 16 are no longer allowed to purchase energy drinks, following adoption of a bill in the legislature, marking the first province to pass such a law.

The Sûreté du Québec has raided two locations—Charlemagne and St. Alexis des Monts—in its investigation of the murder of Charalambos (Bobby the Greek) Theologou in a Starbucks in Laval.

Quebec’s language police have been alerted to the word ‘nosh’ (a Yiddish word for snack) and are investigating Arthurs Nosh Bar in St. Henri, because the word appears on the storefront and may be in contravention of the law.

Residents of Lachine have been told to reduce water consumption and join a long list of municipalities, as three distribution lines are closed to allow for emergency work: Ahuntsic-Cartierville. Anjou, Côte-des-Neiges–NDG, Côte-Saint-Luc, Hampstead, Lachine, LaSalle, Plateau-Mont-Royal, Le Sud-Ouest, Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. Montréal-Est, Montreal West, Montréal Nord, Mount Royal, Outremont. Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles. Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie. Saint-Laurent. Saint-Léonard. Verdun. Ville-Marie, Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension and Westmount.

Montreal Police had been looking for sex offender 66-year-old Chris Watts on a warrant for contravening bail conditions and the Correctional Service of Canada has found him in Hamilton.
