Overnight closures pending on Highway 15

By Robert Frank

Motorists who head north during the evening and wee hours on Highway 15 could face delays and detours, this month and next.

Transport Quebec has started resurfacing work on the Laurentian Autoroute between Highway 640 and Chemin de la Côte Nord. The work is slated to continue right through to the end of August.

It said in a statement that this will permit it to repair three kilometres of heavily rutted roadway. The work will entail lane closures, although it intends to keep at least one lane open at all time.

The repaving will also required construction worker to close exit and entrance ramps for repaving at various times. Motorists will be detoured via other routes during those closures.

Last week, The Suburban reported Transport Quebec’s plan to resurface Highway 440 this month and next.

Transport Quebec said that it’s part of a $4.9 billion three-year plan to restore the province’s aging road infrastructure.

More information about summer highway construction is available on Transport Quebec’s website, which features a helpful English-language page at: www.quebec511.info/en/mtl/in dex.aspn
