Transport Quebec announced last week that it plans to resurface Highway 440 in Laval during July and August.
It said in a statement that the work is needed in order to ensure that the roadway remains safe.
The paving work will be conducted along the stretch of Highway 440 that runs from Highway 19 to Montée St. François.
Night closures
At some points, construction workers will have to close Highway 440 completely overnight.
Transport Quebec has promised to post prominent detour signs when they divert traffic onto the two-lane service roads.
