Objectif Zénith fundraiser raises $200,000

For the seventh year in a row, the city of Laval organized the Objectif Zénith raffle draw which raised more than $200,000 to help more than 100 local organizations carry out their activities.

A total of 120,000 tickets are sold at two dollars each for a chance to win $25,000 in prizes at the March 11, celebration at city hall.

The organizations decide how many booklets it would like and keeps 90 percent of the funds raised through ticket sales.
In addition, three cash prizes were donated by the National Bank; one for $3,000 was won by the 64th Scouts from Ste. Rose for selling the most tickets. Two $1,000 prizes went to Société littéraire de Laval and l’Académie de théâtre l’Envol.

Vice-chairman of Laval’s Executive Committee, David de Cotis thanked all who attended the event and encouraged continued involvement.

“Thank you for your involvement in the seventh edition of Objectif Zénith finance campaign,” he stated, “$200,220 is no pocket change!”

This year’s first prize, rental of a Smart Car for two for a year with a value of $8,000, donated by Mercedes-Benz Laval went to Pierre Bilotto. Second and third prizes, both $3,000 trips offered by Sunwing Vacations holding a value of $3,000, were won by Claire Lenoir and Marlyne Morin.
