In response to the growing passion for soccer in the community, the city of Laval will build a new natural grass soccer field in Chomedey’s Stephanie Park. The official opening of the field is scheduled for Spring 2015.
The soccer field will be built outside the scope of the Bois de la Source, a wooded area.
The rare trees that are in line with the project will be moved under the act respecting threatened or vulnerable tree species. The realization and authorization of this sports field was proposed to the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment, Wildlife and Parks (MDDEFP).
The Bois de la Source is a vast area of approximately 40 acres that the city of Laval is committed to preserve.
