The nature centre will be handing out fall perennials and bulbs to the first 500 Laval residents to present themselves at the horticultural school’s green house on Sept. 13 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. According to Julie Jalbert, horticultural event coordinator at the foundation of the nature centre, there will be 500 free chrysanthemum plants, 500 perennial plants and 500 bags with three to four crocuses to give away to those with proof of Laval residency. Children 13 and under will receive a bag of daffodil bulbs.

“It is important to remember to go to the green house at the back of the centre,” Jalbert told The Suburban in an interview, “though you can access the green house by foot from the entrance of the centre it is beneficial to use the entrance located at 1051 Croisant Pierre Bédard.”

There will be flower specialist on hand to answer questions regarding fall planting.
