Members of Montreal Police Station 4, which services Dollard des Ormeaux, are asking parents to remain alert following a recent complaint made to the neighbourhood station by parents of a six-year-old girl.

The young family was celebrating St. Jean Baptiste near Elm Park when the girl was approached by a man who suggested she get into his car. Thankfully, the young girl was suspicious and went back to the comforting arms of her mother instead.

Due to the ongoing investigation, the driver and his vehicle could not be identified but parents are being asked to call 911 if they note anything suspicious in their area.

The station provided some prevention tips that parents should pass along to their children that include avoid traveling alone and teach your children to say “No”, “Help” or “I don’t know” if a stranger ever tries to persuade a child to get into their car.

Anyone with information about the June 24 incident can call 911 or InfoCrime at [514] 393-1133 where information can be shared anonymously.
