Dr. Gabriel Cassir, fourth-year resident in obstetrics gynecology at University of Montreal, has delivered more than 150 babies in her relatively new career.

The requests for the Kardashian special began after reality television star Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick welcomed their first daughter, Penelope Scotland Disick, into the world on July 8, 2012.

“I laugh every time I am asked,” Cassir explained in an interview with The Suburban.

According to Cassir, the Kardashian experience is when a mother pulls out her own baby during birth. The head and shoulders of the baby are already out and the mother pulls it the rest of the way. It does not infringe on Cassir’s ability to do her job. Women who make such requests are in their late 20s early 30s.

“I have no problem accommodating a new mother with such a request,” Cassir explained, “as long as things are going well, but sometimes it is just not possible. The baby and mother are top priority. It may be disappointing but I am the one to make that call.”
