Laval’s local development centre (CLD) will hold an information session for anyone looking to start a new business in the city tonight at 6:15 p.m. They are also offering a series of free workshops for young entrepreneurs every Friday from 9 until noon, or in the case of this coming Friday, until 12:30 p.m.

Their business start-up information sessions take place in French every second Wednesday. During the sessions, coordinators outline all the services offered by the CLD to help entrepreneurs get a business underway. Granting organizations, networking opportunities, local partnerships and business plan writing services are among the items discussed at the session. The next one will occur on Wednesday, June 25.

The free workshops are offered by the Mouvement québécois de la qualité and are open to business owners who are younger than 35 years with businesses established within the last 18 months. This week’s session covers hiring and sub-contracting. The sessions on Friday, June 20 and Friday, June 27 cover online strategies, parts one and two.

To register for either of these opportunities, send an email to inscription@cldlaval.com, call [450] 978-6990 or register online via Eventbrite.
