De Cotis–St. Bruno

Mouvement lavallois’ (ML) founder David De Cotis has lived in St. Bruno for more than a decade. He earned a degree in computer science and another in administration and finance. After he was defeated in the 2009 municipal election, De Cotis spent the next four years dogging the Vaillancourt administration and getting ready to represent his constituents.

During that time, he got to hear what was dear to the heart of St. Bruno—as well as Laval—residents. “Laval need more soccer fields, synthetic or not. Lausanne Park has to be updated and, in this district, speeders have become a major problem. Dropping the speed limit to 40 km/h was a good initiative, but I’m sure that we could find others too,” said De Cotis.

“We wish to establish a true democracy, with genuine transparency. We will not refuse any question from the citizens at city council meetings, and we will be listening to them. You can expect a change in the administration’s attitude.”

He vowed that he won’t disappoint those who entrusted him with their vote. As for what he expects in terms of collaboration with the four elected opposition councillors, he said they will be warmly welcomed by ML members who, he pledged will cooperate 100 percent.

“Campaign grudges should be left behind. Now that we are elected, we all have to work for Laval’s citizens.”
