A Quebec government spokeswoman has confirmed that Premier Pauline Marois was rushed to the Sir Mortimer Davis Jewish General Hospital, Saturday, Sept. 21, following a severe case of food poisoning.
The Parti québécois government leader was treated and released from medical care the same day.
The spokeswoman declined to discuss the incident further, or comment on the care that Marois received in Quebec’s most ethnically diverse hospital, stating that it was a private matter.
Many Jewish General Hospital employees of all creeds wear conspicuous signs of their faith: Hijabs, turbans, crosses and kippahs.
Marois recently proposed that Quebec pass a new law to prohibit all employees on the public payroll from wearing such conspicuous expressions of devotion.
