Two young adults were severely injured recently after the car in which they were driving ended up in a ravine in Ste. Dorothée.
The driver was at a high speed on Highway 440 west when officers who were coming in the other direction of the highway spotted the vehicle.
However, police did not have time to intercept and lost sight of the Honda Civic.
A 911 call was received shortly after to report a violent accident on des Bois, at the corner of Chemin de Fer, in Ste. Dorothée.
Both suffered serious back injuries and were transported to Sacré Cœur Hospital. They had just left a bar in Laval and a strong scent of alcohol came from the car, according to Laval police.
The driver was released on a promise to appear later and will be charged with conduct impaired and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
