Consulter en ligne – Online searches

• First step: Recherche en ligne – Online searches

• Second step: Recherche Thématique – Search process by subject matters

• Third step: Recherche dans l’état civil – Searches within the civil registers

• Fourth step – Commune – Enter the name of the commune of your choice (village, town, township, city)

• Fifth step – Résultats de recherche – Search results – From the 745 communes listed, I selected the village of Angiens – The results offered under Angiens were as follows: Registres paroissiaux et d’état civil (parish and civil registers of Angiens). A second result under Angiens were those of a neighbourhood village by the name of Yclon.

• Then first under Registres paroissiaux (parish records), the page results will also indicate: Baptêmes, mariages, sépultures (baptisms, marriages, deaths). By clicking on one of these three options it will post search results from 1546-1792 – The latter years are what has been digitized for both villages of Angiens and Yclon in regard to parish registers. – The images are excellent in regard to handwriting and quality of reproduction.

• Then secondly under Registres de l’état civil (civil registers) repeat the same process for both villages of Angiens and Yclon – The search results in regard to civil registers covers the period from 1793-1912 for births, marriages, deaths (naissances, mariages, sépultures)

• This web site also feature a few other online searchable options, but at first glance they do not appear to deal with family lineage searches.

• One note of caution: Ensure while navigating through this search engine that you concentrate your research process only under the heading of Recherche en ligne (online search), for this repository contains  multiple collections which are not yet available online.
