Last week, the city of Kirkland announced via a press release that the city’s new website has been launched and offers easier navigation for users as well as updated content.

Another update is that the site is now accessible via a home computer as well as a mobile phone, tablet or laptop computer.

The site boasts more interactivity as users can access animated elements for easier by-law access as well as the content adhering to the screen being used. The site is just the latest development for the city with the recent introduction of the city’s CodeRED program that began this past June. In the case of a dangerous weather event, power outage, water boil adversary or other potential dangers, the city CodeRED system encourages residents to register for the free communications service.

Once registered, the system can relay information in real time through a variety of ways by phone, e-mail message or text.

“I’m so proud of our team who have been working very hard to breathe life into this new website,” said Mayor John Meaney. “I’m really pleased with the result. We appreciate the need to reach out to our residents in ways that work best for them.”

The website can be accessed via www.ville.kirkland.qc.ca
