A new, 15,000 square foot bank branch
opened Oct 1 on Le Corbusier, at Laval’s
busiest intersection. It will serve
Laurentian branch customers as far away
as Ste. Eustache to the west and Joliette
to the east.
In addition to the familiar retail banking, the facility will add specialized services such as private banking, as well as offices to cater to Laval’s booming small-
and medium-sized businesses.
Laurentian’s marketing assistant vice-president Francis Leblanc told The
Suburban in an interview. “Quebec’s
third-largest city is a huge market.”
“Serving these clients from downtown
can be awkward,” he explained. “Now we
will have three people serving them on a
regular basis in Laval.”
“We call this a flagship branch, because it’s very central and all of our
services are available in a single location,”
said Leblanc. “If you are a pharmacist,
for example, you need that kind of banking for your business.”
its strategic location.
“We considered other spots, but it was
tough to find the kind of ready accessibility that we have in Laval on Le
Corbusier,” Leblanc observed.
He said that bankers often have to go
and visit their business customers, and
that personnel at the new super-branch will
be serving not just Laval but the North
Shore and Lanaudière regions as well.
“Bankers visit clients on site, because that’s
how they acquaint themselves with how
their business functions, how the premises are laid out,” he explained. “We see
not just the owner but the people who
work with the owner, to figure out ways
to help that business grow.”
