A young boy who ran into the street to retrieve his hat after
a gust of wind blew it off his head is recovering from a fractured leg and contusions, after being struck by a passing city
pickup truck, Laval police report.
According to Const. Franco di Genova, the five-year-old
strayed into the road at the Centre de la nature on avenue du
Parc at 11:30 a.m., Sept. 15.
The boy and his mother, who was suffering from shock,
were transported to hospital after the accident. Both are
expected to fully recover, as is the municipal employee who
was driving the city vehicle.
